Kileleshwa was named after the formidable Leleshwa tree- a tree native to Naivasha and is one of the few indigenous trees that can regenerate once cut down or burnt. It is a durable tree – stubbornly un-swayed by unfavourable conditions. It has since held the name in high esteem as over the years it had developed in one of the most lavish and sort after suburbs in Nairobi both by locals and foreigners.
